TIN PAN ALLEY .... 28th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues in Manhattan, frequented by Musicians and song Writers and occupied by publishers of popular music during the 2nd and 3rd decades of the Twentieth Century. As you walked down the street, you'd hear all the pianos, in the sheet music stores, playing different songs simultaneously. The sound reminded some of the tin pans clanging together.
